Rossouw Removals began with something far simpler than a transport business.
Our founder, Jako van der Merwe, grew up with strong roots in the Cape Winelands, attending Paarl Gymnasium before continuing his studies at the University of Cape Town (UCT). While still in high school, he started providing transport services to help pay for living expenses and future studies. During university, that work naturally evolved into residential relocations, assisting fellow students who regularly needed reliable transport when moving between accommodation.
It quickly became clear that moving was only part of the challenge.
Many students also needed a safe place to store their belongings during holidays and between leases. Rather than referring customers elsewhere, the business expanded to offer secure storage alongside removals, creating a convenient one-stop solution that made the entire relocation process easier.
Although the business started by helping students, the same challenges were shared by homeowners, families and businesses.
Today, Rossouw Removals assists clients relocating for renovations, downsizing, property sales, emigration, sub-letting, office relocations and many other life transitions.
From those humble beginnings as a student-run transport service, the business has grown into a trusted removals, storage and packing company serving clients across the Cape Winelands and beyond.
